The Beeville Performing Arts Theater first opened its doors on August 19, 1922, under the operation of Hall Industries Theaters. Its grand opening featured Douglas Fairbanks in The Three Musketeers, a fittingly spectacular beginning for what would become a cultural landmark in Beeville, Texas. Designed by the renowned architect John Eberson—celebrated for his atmospheric and opulent theater designs—the venue originally offered seating for 542 patrons, including a modest balcony with 102 seats and the remainder on the main floor.

The Rialto Theatre has been a cornerstone of entertainment in Beeville for generations, enchanting audiences with its charm and cultural significance. After closing its doors in 1986, dedicated preservationists and community members united to restore this beloved landmark to its former glory. Now, after years of meticulous renovation, the Rialto is entering its final phase of restoration. Soon, this historic venue will once again welcome the public—serving not only as a tribute to Beeville’s rich heritage but as a dynamic performing arts center where children, families, and visitors from across South Texas can enjoy live performances, film, and cultural events in a truly timeless setting.
